Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Niche Leads, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use installers.org (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you submit a quote request, contact form, or listing, we collect the information you give us, such as:
- your name and contact details (email address and/or phone number);
- your ZIP code or location;
- the service you’re requesting and any project details or messages you include; and
- for Providers, your business name, contact information, service area, and listing details.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we may collect limited technical and usage data: such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring pages: through cookies and similar technologies and analytics tools.
2. How We Use Your Quote Requests
This disclosure is central to the operation of the Service and is described here in full. When you submit a quote request or otherwise ask to be connected with a Provider, you authorize and instruct us to disclose the information contained in your request to one or more independent Providers serving your area, in order that they may contact you and seek to fulfill that request. The information disclosed is limited to that reasonably necessary for this purpose, and typically comprises your name, contact details, ZIP code or location, and the project details you have provided.
- A single request may be shared with multiple Providers at the same time (for example, when you use “Get Fast Quote”), so that you can receive and compare quotes.
- Providers are independent third parties. Once we share your request with a Provider, that Provider uses your information on its own behalf, under its own privacy practices, which we do not control. We are not responsible for how a Provider uses, stores, or contacts you with your information.
- We do not need your request to contact you in order to share it with Providers: sharing it to fulfill your request is the purpose of submitting it. If you don’t want your information shared with Providers, please don’t submit a quote request.
3. How We Use Information Generally
- to operate, maintain, and improve the Service and its directory;
- to connect you with Providers and facilitate quote requests, as described above;
- to respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about the Service;
- to understand usage and improve performance and content; and
- to comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. Other Ways We Share Information
- Service vendors. We use trusted third-party vendors (for example, hosting, email delivery, and analytics) that process information on our behalf to operate the Service.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, Providers, the public, or us.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4a. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
We disclose that we sell and share personal information as those terms are defined under applicable law.
Providers may pay a fee to receive your quote request, which contains your name, contact details, and the particulars of your project. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and under comparable statutes in other states, the disclosure of personal information to a third party in exchange for monetary consideration constitutes a “sale,” and disclosure to a Provider for that Provider’s own use may additionally constitute “sharing.” Such disclosure is integral to the operation of the Service, being the means by which a consumer seeking assembly services is connected with a Provider able to perform them. We disclose it as a sale because it is one.
The categories sold or shared are the ones in Section 1: identifiers (name, phone, email), location (ZIP or address), and the commercial information in your request. They go to Providers who serve your area, so they can contact you about your request. We do not sell information about anyone under 16.
Your right to opt out. You may tell us not to sell or share your personal information by emailing privacy@installers.org with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.”
Please note the practical effect of opting out. A quote request is, by its nature, a request to be contacted by Providers. If we do not disclose your request to Providers, no Provider can respond to it, and the Service cannot perform the function for which you submitted it. Accordingly, an opt-out means that we will not disclose your personal information to Providers, and that any pending request will not be fulfilled. An opt-out is not a means of using the Service without Providers receiving your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising this right.
4b. Rules We Impose on Providers
Sharing your information with a Provider is not a license for them to do as they please with it. Our Terms require every Provider to use it only to respond to the request it came with, and expressly forbid them from selling it, redistributing it, adding you to a marketing list, contacting you after you tell them to stop, or keeping it longer than they need it.
These restrictions are contractual obligations, not technical controls. We enforce them by suspending or removing a Provider from the Service, and we will do so. We cannot, however, compel a Provider to delete information already in its possession, and we do not represent that we are able to do so. If you believe a Provider has misused your information, please contact us at privacy@installers.org. We will investigate and act on it, and you may in addition hold rights directly against that Provider.
4c. Information a Business Partner Gives Us About You
Some retailers and brands (“Partners”) use us to arrange assembly or installation of something you bought from them. In that case the Partner gives us your information: your name, phone, email, and the delivery address, so a Provider can carry out the job.
We process that information for the purpose of arranging and completing the job, and we disclose it to the Provider performing the work. The Partner is responsible for ensuring it had the authority and any consent required to disclose that information to us, and the Partner’s own privacy policy governs its collection. Where you did not anticipate that your information would be disclosed to us, the retailer from which you purchased is the appropriate first point of contact, as it collected the information and determined the purposes of its use. You may nonetheless contact us at privacy@installers.org and we will assist.
4d. The Installer Finder on Other Websites
Our installer finder can be embedded on a Partner’s own website. When you use it there:
- It sends the ZIP code and service you searched for to us, so we can find Providers, and it records that the search happened, along with which listings were clicked or called. We show the Partner counts of that activity, and which ZIP codes we had no Provider for.
- The finder does not set cookies and does not track you across other websites. We record only your interactions with the finder itself. We do not build a profile of your activity elsewhere, and we do not use the finder to do so.
- If you submit a quote request through it, that is handled exactly as any other quote request, including Sections 2, 4a, and 4b above.
4e. Payments
Where a Partner pays a Provider through the Service, the payment is processed by Stripe, on the Provider’s own Stripe account. We never receive your card number. We store the amount, the date, a payment reference, and any itemized adjustments, so both sides have a record. Stripe’s handling of card data is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.
4f. Photographs
Providers may upload photographs of completed work, which can show the inside of a home. Those photographs are stored with the job and shown to the Partner and Provider on that job. Our Terms require Providers to have the property owner’s permission and forbid them from uploading images of identifiable people. If a photograph of your property has been uploaded and you want it removed, email privacy@installers.org.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service and understand how it’s used. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without them.
6. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. In particular:
- Quote requests and jobs are kept while we operate the Service and for as long as we may need them for tax, accounting, and dispute records.
- Installer finder activity (the searches and clicks described in Section 4d) is deleted after roughly 45 days. We keep an aggregate count of which ZIP codes and services were searched with no Provider available, so we know where to recruit. That aggregate does not identify you.
- Messages and photographs attached to a job are kept with that job.
A material limitation applies to all of the above. A Provider to whom your request has been disclosed holds its own copy of that information on its own systems. Deletion of our copy does not effect deletion of the Provider’s copy. Our Terms require Providers to restrict their use of that information and to delete it once it is no longer required, but those are contractual obligations owed by the Provider, and we do not possess technical means to erase records held by a third party. To request deletion of a Provider’s copy, you must direct that request to the Provider.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop sharing your information with additional Providers, by contacting us at privacy@installers.org. Please note that we cannot retrieve or delete information already shared with a Provider , for that, you’ll need to contact the Provider directly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Links
The Service may link to third-party sites, including Providers. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
12. Contact
