A playhouse bought for how it looks
Almost every other structure in this category is a cedar climbing tower, and it is judged on whether it stays tight and safe for ten years. A 2MamaBees playhouse is a different purchase. It is a farmhouse-styled building in white and black with a built-in kitchen, wooden play food with hook and loop pieces for cutting practice, and cedar window boxes you can plant. People buy it partly because of how it will look in the yard.
That changes what counts as a good build. On a cedar tower a scuffed board is invisible within a season. On a stained white playhouse, a smeared finish, a scratched panel or a screw driven through the face is the thing everybody sees. So the care goes into handling and cleaning rather than into torque.
It also arrives partially assembled, which shortens the build considerably. The Reign is quoted at around three hours from a fifteen page guide. That figure is achievable, and it assumes you are not also discovering the two things below for the first time.

The three hour figure is honest for the assembly. Plan a full day once cleaning, sorting and site work are counted in.
What goes wrong, specifically
The parts are coated in Vaseline, and cleaning them is the first hour
An owner reviewing on 2MamaBees’ own site put it plainly: the sellers will tell you the pieces are coated with Vaseline to protect them during shipping, wiping it off with water and vinegar does work, and the process is a little time consuming. It is there for a good reason, because a stained white and black finish would otherwise arrive marked. But it means the build starts with a bucket rather than a drill, and it is worth having rags, white vinegar and water ready before you open the crate rather than improvising once the parts are out.
Many pieces are not labeled
From the same review: many of the pieces were not labeled, so it was sometimes hard to work out which piece was which. On a kit where a lot of the boards are the same color and similar sizes, that is where the time goes. Lay everything out and match it against the parts diagram in the guide before you fasten anything, and keep the cleaned pieces in the order the guide uses rather than in a stack.
It wants two people, and the directions say so
The same owner’s husband, who did the build, said it would have been easier with a second person to assist, and noted the directions mention it. On a two story structure with six foot ceilings and a nine foot overall height, panels have to be held plumb while they are fastened, and a single builder ends up bracing with one hand and driving with the other. That is how faces get scratched.
Uneven or soft ground is excluded from the warranty
The warranty is five years against failure due to rot and decay, and its exclusions name improper installation including, in their words, installation on uneven, unleveled or soft ground. Soft is the one worth noting. A playhouse of this weight set on ground that has recently been dug, filled or heavily mulched will settle unevenly, and the doors are the first thing to tell you, because they stop closing squarely.
Natural movement in the wood is not a defect
The warranty also excludes minor twisting, warping and cracking, on the basis that these are natural properties of wood that do not affect performance or integrity. Their product notes make a similar point about the finish, that the pieces are stained and normal wood grain will show through. That is worth knowing on a product bought for its appearance, since a grain line or a small check is expected rather than a fault.
The swing attachment is separate, and it changes the footprint
On the Reign, the slide is included but the swing attachment is sold separately, and it has its own assembly guide. It also extends the structure substantially, from roughly 157 inches wide to around 191 inches long overall once fitted. If there is any chance you will add it later, measure and site the playhouse for the larger footprint now, because moving a finished two story playhouse to make room is not a small afternoon.
Before you open the crate
Have rags, white vinegar and water ready. The cleaning is the first task, not an afterthought, and doing it with whatever is under the sink slows it down further.
Level the site and make sure it is firm. The warranty specifically excludes uneven, unleveled or soft ground, so freshly dug or heavily mulched ground needs to settle or be compacted first.
Decide now whether the swing attachment is ever likely, and site the playhouse for the full footprint if so.
Arrange a second person for the build. Both the directions and the owner reviews point the same way.
Clear a shaded, clean space to lay out and sort pieces after cleaning, because setting freshly wiped stained panels down on grass or gravel undoes the point of the exercise.
Who this is really for
Somebody who wants a playhouse that reads as part of the house and yard rather than as playground equipment, and who cares about the kitchen, the window boxes and the finish as much as about the climbing. On those terms it does something the cedar towers do not attempt.
It suits a smaller yard, and some models are designed to work indoors as well. On the Reign there is an indoor configuration that leaves the slide off to save space, which is unusual in a structure this size.

What it asks for is patience with the preparation, which is the opposite of what the three hour figure leads people to expect, and the reason an installer is worth considering is care and handling rather than complexity.
