Zuri Furniture assembly

The most valuable thing you will do on delivery day takes ten seconds and happens before you pick up a tool.

Zuri asks you to inspect the items and note any damage on the sheet the delivery agent gives you to sign. On a marble dining table or a leather sectional, that signature is the difference between an easy fix and a long argument.

Premium materials change what can go wrong

Zuri Furniture is a Dallas company with showrooms in the Design District and Frisco, a distribution center in Lewisville, and nationwide shipping, selling contemporary pieces sourced from Italy, Asia, Europe and Canada. The materials are the point: naturally harvested marble, glass, mirrored and lacquer finishes, top-grain leather.

That makes it a different job from the other furniture in this directory. On a flat pack the risk is a stripped cam lock or a panel fitted backward, and the worst case is an hour lost. Here the fasteners are rarely the hard part. The risk is a chipped marble edge, a scratched lacquer face, a cracked glass shelf or a scuffed leather arm, and the worst case is a four figure piece that is no longer perfect.

It also arrives in more than one way. Zuri runs a tiered delivery service, and their top tier, white glove, is a turn-key experience that includes complete assembly. Smaller items travel by parcel carrier instead, typically arriving a few days after shipment, and those do not require a signature at all. Knowing which one is coming to your door determines what you need to do when it gets there.

What it actually takes

Zuri does not publish per-item assembly times, so these are planning estimates for premium furniture. The service tier matters more than the clock.

What goes wrong, specifically

Note any damage on the delivery sheet before you sign it

This is Zuri’s own instruction and it is the most useful thing on this page. If the box shows damage, or anything about the packaging or the delivery concerns you, write Product Damaged clearly on the sheet the delivery agent asks you to sign. Their point is that doing so makes any problem straightforward to put right afterward. Inspect the items fully before accepting them, and note packaging damage on the document you sign accepting the goods. A signature given without that note is a much weaker starting position on a piece worth thousands.

Do not throw the packaging out early

Returns here depend on it. Items eligible for free two-way shipping have to come back in brand new, unused condition and in their original packaging, and Zuri cannot accept items returned damaged or used, including items damaged in return shipping because they were packed incorrectly. So the box is not trash until you are certain the piece is staying. Break it down flat and keep it somewhere dry for a little while rather than putting it out with the trash the same afternoon.

Check which delivery tier you actually bought

White glove is the top tier and includes complete assembly, with the delivery partner calling to arrange a date and an appointment window once your items reach your area. Some products include it free. Small packages, though, ship by parcel carrier, typically arriving a few days after shipment, and do not require a signature, so they can simply be left. If you chose white glove on a small package, the assembly is arranged as a separate visit within a few days of the box arriving. Knowing which applies stops you waiting in for a crew that was never coming, or assembling something you had already paid to have built.

White glove orders are not eligible for free return shipping

Worth knowing at checkout rather than afterward. Zuri states that items shipped with white glove are not eligible for free return shipping, and neither are orders of eight or more bar stools or dining chairs, or four or more office chairs. None of that is unusual for premium furniture, but it does mean the convenience of the top delivery tier and the flexibility of an easy return are not something you get together.

Marble variation is expected, not a fault

Zuri says their marble tops are naturally harvested and may show slight variations in color. That is worth reading before the piece arrives, because a natural stone top will not match the photograph exactly and is not meant to. Variation in veining and tone is the material behaving normally. Genuine damage, a chip, a crack or a scratch, is a different matter and is exactly what the delivery inspection is for.

Two people for anything stone, glass or mirrored

A marble or glass top will take a chip from a single knock against a door frame, and a mirrored panel flexes more than people expect. Carry tops vertically on edge rather than flat, plan the route through the house before lifting anything, and never attempt a stone top alone regardless of how manageable it looks. Most damage to premium furniture happens in the last thirty feet, between the truck and the room.

If white glove cannot finish, get the state of it recorded

Occasionally a delivery cannot be completed on the day, whatever the brand: a part is missing, access defeats the crew, or a piece arrives damaged. It is worth knowing what to do rather than assuming it will not happen. If a crew leaves without finishing, photograph exactly how the piece and its parts were left, note it on the paperwork before signing anything, and raise it promptly. Clear evidence taken on the day is what makes the conversation short and the resolution quick.

Before and on delivery day

Confirm which delivery tier your order is on, and whether assembly is included, before the delivery date rather than at the door.

Measure the route, not just the room. Doorways, stair turns and elevator depth are what stop a large sectional or a long table.

Be there for a white glove appointment, since the delivery partner will call to arrange a date and window and you need to approve placement.

Inspect everything fully before signing, and write clearly on the sheet if there is any damage or anything about the packaging concerns you.

Keep the packaging flat and dry until you are sure the piece is staying, because returns depend on having it.

Clear the floor and protect it. A marble or glass top set down on an unprotected hard floor for a moment is how edges get chipped.

Who this is really for

Somebody buying furniture as a considered purchase rather than a commodity, who wants marble, leather and glass rather than laminate, and who cares how the finished room looks. Zuri sells design-led pieces at a range of prices and ships them across the country from Texas.

It rewards a buyer who treats delivery day as part of the purchase. Almost everything that goes wrong with premium furniture is a handling or a paperwork problem rather than an assembly one, and both are solved by ten minutes of attention at the right moment.

If you have bought white glove, complete assembly is already included and you should not pay anyone twice for it. The times an independent installer is genuinely useful are when a piece arrives by parcel carrier or comes home from a showroom, when a white glove visit leaves something unfinished, or later on when a marble top and a mirrored cabinet have to be moved to another house without being damaged.

What an installer does

  • Inspects the delivery with you and makes sure any damage is noted on the paperwork before anything is signed.
  • Carries stone, glass and mirrored components properly, on edge and with two people, and protects the floor and the route.
  • Assembles pieces that arrived by parcel carrier or were collected from a showroom, where no assembly service was included.
  • Finishes and corrects a part-built piece where a white glove visit could not complete it, and documents how it was left.
  • Keeps the packaging usable and stored flat in case a return is needed.
  • Levels tables and cabinets and checks doors and drawers sit true on the finished piece.
  • Moves, disassembles and reassembles premium pieces later without damaging finishes.

Questions people ask

What is the single most important thing to do when Zuri delivers?

Inspect the items and note any damage on the sheet the delivery agent asks you to sign, before you sign it. Zuri’s own guidance is to write Product Damaged clearly if the box is damaged or anything about the packaging or delivery concerns you, because that makes any problem straightforward to resolve afterward.

Does Zuri assemble the furniture?

With white glove delivery, yes. It is their top tier, described as a turn-key experience, and complete assembly is included. Some products include free white glove delivery with assembly. Smaller items ship by parcel carrier instead, and if you selected white glove on a small package, the assembly is arranged as a separate visit within a few days of delivery.

Should I keep the boxes?

Yes, at least until you are sure you are keeping the piece. Returns on free two-way shipping items require them to come back brand new, unused and in the original packaging, and Zuri cannot accept items damaged in return shipping because they were packed incorrectly.

My marble top does not look exactly like the photo. Is it faulty?

Probably not. Zuri notes that their marble is naturally harvested and may show slight variations in color, so differences in veining and tone are the material behaving normally. A chip, crack or scratch is different, and that is what the inspection at delivery is for.

Can I return a white glove order easily?

Not under the free return shipping terms. Zuri states that items shipped with white glove are not eligible for free return shipping, along with orders of eight or more bar stools or dining chairs and four or more office chairs. Worth factoring in at checkout.

Where does Zuri ship?

Across the US and Canada, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, and not to PO Boxes or APO and FPO addresses. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico or internationally needs a quote from them, and duties and taxes are the customer’s responsibility.
